We're delighted to welcome our first female honoree, Allyson Felix, who comes to us as the most decorated USA Olympic Track and Field athlete of all time - both for women and men. Allyson is a force both on and off the field, having advocated for other women athletes and in developing her unique shoe brand, Saysh. We know her live interview with Roy Firestone at our Gala will be illuminating and inspiring.

Westcoast Sports Associates honored Roy Firestone in 1996 for his community service and contributions to disadvantaged youths in sports. Sharing a similar vision with WSA, Roy subsequently joined the organization, at which time the award was officially renamed “The Roy Firestone Award.”

A Volunteer Organization Providing Grant Funding To Community Partners

WSA’s leadership team is made up of 70 volunteer members who serve on committees to collectively influence equal opportunities in sports for the children of Greater Los Angeles. 

Since 1995, WSA has allocated $3.5 million in support that has allowed the awarded City of Los Angeles Recreation Centers and nonprofit youth sports administrators to charge affordable program fees and offer hundreds of participation scholarships for children 5-12 years of age. Youth sports programs administered by WSA’s distinguished grant recipients provide safe facilities for young people to call their own, offer sports activities that influence healthy habits, and introduce participants to coaches and volunteers that become positive role models and life-long mentors.
